This article, transcending purely theological and theoretical analyses, undertakes a genealogical study and structuring of the model of social reform in the Qur’an through a case study of the Prophetic paradigm of agency. The central research problem is that the actions of the prophets, extensively documented in the Qur’anic text, should not be viewed as isolated or unique events but rather as integrated components of an overarching model for social transformation. Adopting a genealogical approach and a descriptive-analytical method, the study argues that the prophets’ missions must be understood within the framework of a socio-theological theory of action.
The findings indicate that this paradigm is grounded in two fundamental principles: the sociological principle of monotheism (tawhid) as the driving force for negating false sovereignties (taghut), and the principle of dynamic resistance as a strategic mechanism for confronting structures of corruption and deviation. This model manifests itself in four interconnected and complementary dimensions:
(1) the intra-personal and psychological dimension of the leader (rooted in capacities such as forbearance, patience, and magnanimity);
(2) the cultural-discursive dimension (struggle against polytheism and the establishment of a cognitive revolution);
(3) the political dimension (resisting arrogance and supporting the oppressed); and
(4) the economic dimension (critiquing systems of accumulation and presenting a model of just and altruistic economy).
In conclusion, the Prophetic model constitutes a timeless and strategic roadmap for the realization of a monotheistic society, offering profound implications for the understanding and reform of contemporary challenges across cultural, political, and economic domains.
