Resistance, as a strategic doctrine within contemporary Islamic discourse, encompasses a far broader concept than mere military defiance. The Holy Qur’an, as the timeless and universal charter of Islam, offers profound and multidimensional teachings for the management of resistance, aiming to elevate it from localized reactions to a comprehensive global civilizational project. This study seeks to extract and elucidate the strategic principles of resistance management from the Qur’anic perspective by examining key verses on the subject. The central problem addressed is the transition from a reductionist, militarized understanding of resistance to a holistic and civilizational vision incorporating soft power, cultural, and geopolitical dimensions. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical method and employing an innovative approach grounded in the sociocultural context of revelation, this article critically analyzes earlier interpretations of concepts such as the “Middle Nation” (Ummah Wasat), and proposes the theory of global centrality and strategic surveillance as an alternative. The findings reveal that resistance management, in the Qur’anic logic, requires precise enemy discernment (distinguishing the hostile from the non-hostile), comprehensive and advanced preparedness (“Prepare against them whatever force you can muster” [Q8:60]), confrontation with soft warfare and internal doubt-mongering, and, most importantly, the recognition and fulfillment of the Ummah Wasat’s global mission as a witness and overseer over nations. This perspective transforms resistance from a defensive tactic into a civilization-building strategy for actualizing justice and spirituality on a global scale.
