Unity and solidarity among Muslims is a very important and fundamental issue that the Word of God and the Prophetic tradition have heavily emphasized. Imam Ali (AS) considers Islamic unity to be among divine blessings and gifts, and believes that the sole unity-generating factor in Islamic society is the Holy Quran and the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). His attention to this important issue and its realization is great, so that the Islamic society does not suffer from division and dispersion. The present writing is a descriptive-analytical research aiming to identify the various dimensions of the Basij's role in Islamic unity, compiled in a systematic manner. In this article, analytical methods and reference to the conduct and practical method of the Infallible Imams (AS), as well as the viewpoints of Imam Khomeini (RA), the Supreme Leader (Madzillah), and the works of Martyr Motahari, have been utilized so that we can examine the aspects of the subject of unity. Also, an attempt has been made to examine existing and relevant documents by referring to the Basij organization and other related organs, and to elucidate the role and impact of the twenty-million Basij organization in creating and strengthening Islamic unity. The Basij can sustain Islamic unity by employing its capacities in cultural, economic, defensive, security, meta-domain, and political fields. By demonstrating the practical solutions of Imam Ali (AS) in realizing this Islamic principle, the conclusion is drawn that unity and cohesion among Muslims are among the important religious and social themes in Islamic societies, which have received special emphasis and have been considered a factor in the victory of Muslims.
