This article aims to analyze the relationship between the epic of Ashura and the eight years of Holy Defense, examining the structural and thematic similarities between these two monumental historical events. Drawing upon the perspectives of the leadership, the study characterizes the Holy Defense as a blueprint derived from the sublime model of Karbala, seeking to elucidate how a limited temporal period can serve as a source of enduring influence across successive eras. The findings indicate that the Holy Defense is a practical reinterpretation of Ashuraic values within a contemporary context, manifested through instances such as insight, conscious choice, sacrifice, and bravery. Ultimately, the discourse asserts that the promotion of a martyrdom-seeking spirit, sincerity, and sense of duty forged an unbreakable bond between the combatants and the school of Imam Hussain, transforming this epic into a lasting paradigm for society.
